Article: How to choose between our five fragrances

How to choose between our five fragrances
All five of our bottles look the same on the shelf. Same 105 ml size, same faceted glass, same weight in the hand. That is deliberate, and it does nothing to help you choose. So here is the honest version of what sits inside each one.
Every fragrance in the line is a unisex Eau de Parfum released in 2023. The differences are all in the composition, and they are bigger than the matching bottles suggest.
The five at a glance

A closer look at each one
La Pierre Noire
The black stone, and the closest of the five to the diamond that named us, which came out of the ground under a coat of black carbon. Bergamot and jasmine keep the top polished, then it deepens into patchouli and vanilla with a thread of smoke running through. Dark without being heavy, and flexible enough to wear year round. See La Pierre Noire.
La Diamant Miracle
The brightest opening in the line. Bergamot and lavender with a bite of pink peppercorn, a heart of cedarwood, akigalawood and incense, then a base of French vetiver, tonka bean and musk. It reads clean and a little peppery, and it is the easiest of the five to wear through a working day. See La Diamant Miracle.
La Pierre Secrète
The softest of the five. Bergamot, pear and mandarin open it, a peony heart keeps it light and it dries down to soft woods, patchouli and musk. If citrus florals are your lane, start here. See La Pierre Secrète.
La Grande Star Du Botswana
Named for the stone's home country and built on the least conventional opening in the range: blackcurrant bud, juniper berry and angelica seed, which together smell green and slightly wild. Lavender, cassia and rose sit in the heart, with sandalwood, orris and musk underneath. Pick this one if you want a scent people cannot immediately place. See La Grande Star Du Botswana.
Diamant Mystérieux
The warm one. Peach, citrus and plum up top, honey and clary sage in the heart, then a base of tobacco leaf, tobacco flower, amber and patchouli. It leans closer to sweet warmth than anything else we make, and it is the obvious choice for evenings and cold months. See Diamant Mystérieux.
If you can only test one
Match the fragrance to how you wear perfume, not to how it smells in the first minute. For something you can put on without thinking every morning, test La Diamant Miracle or La Pierre Secrète. For depth in the evening, La Pierre Noire or Diamant Mystérieux. For the one nobody will place, La Grande Star Du Botswana.
Whichever you choose, spray it on skin and give it the afternoon before you judge it. The same bottle reads differently on everyone. Our piece on skin chemistry explains why that happens and how to test around it.
